Benny Prince

IIA NZ Board Member

Benny Prince is Head of Risk and Assurance at Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand, where he leads enterprise risk management, internal audit, insurance, compliance and organisational resilience. He is a Chartered Accountant and CA Risk Specialist with more than 20 years’ experience across risk, assurance and internal audit in New Zealand and internationally.

Benny has held senior risk and assurance leadership roles at ACC and Contact Energy, and earlier in his career worked in internal audit and professional services roles with Brunswick Corporation in the United States, Navman and PwC. He has extensive experience working with Boards, Audit and Risk Committees and executive teams, helping organisations strengthen governance, navigate uncertainty and make better-informed decisions. He is particularly interested in how the assurance profession continues to evolve. His recent work includes AI governance and assurance, digital transformation, strategic risk, integrity and the development of more practical and people-centred approaches to risk and assurance.

Benny is passionate about risk and assurance being built into how organisations learn, make decisions and improve, rather than bolted on as a standalone compliance exercise. As an IIA NZ Board member, he is committed to strengthening the profession’s relevance and impact, supporting its future leaders, and helping IIA NZ continue to deliver value for members across Aotearoa New Zealand.
