Speaker

Ana Narovu

Senior Internal Auditor | Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MFEM), Cook Islands

Ana Narovu is a Government Snr Internal Auditor with the Internal Audit Unit at the Cook Islands Ministry of Finance and Economic Management (MFEM), a role she has held for almost three years. Her mandate spans all Government Ministries and Agencies, State-Owned Enterprises, Ministerial Support Offices, Island Governments and recently, Green Climate Fund projects.

Prior to moving into internal audit, she spent over twelve years as an External Auditor and six years as a Public Management and Financial Reporting Accountant, giving her a broad grounding in public sector financial reporting and assurance across the Cook Islands and Fiji. She credits the transition to internal audit as a turning point in her career — one that has deepened her technical development while allowing her to contribute directly to strengthening internal controls across government, and to building a stronger culture of accountability and value-adding assurance within the public sector.

Beyond her role at MFEM, she also works as a Consultant, undertaking independent audit engagements for schools in the Cook Islands, bringing rigorous, standards-based assurance to the education sector.
