Welcome to the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand, the professional body for internal auditing
IIA NZ offers a variety of membership types depending on your career and your current role.

Our membership year runs for a 12-month period, from 1 January to 31 December. Membership fees are exclusive of GST and are pro-rated accordingly from 1 June.
There are four categories of individual membership.
Member 2024: $530.00 | 2025: $585.00
Members are individuals who have a direct jurisdiction over Internal Audit activities or who are engaged as Internal Auditors but who do not qualify as an Associate. This includes corporate officers, public accountants and others who are employed in fields related to Internal Auditing.
Associate Member 2024: $395.00 | 2025: $435.00
Associate membership is for individuals not working in the Internal Audit profession but who wish to hold membership of the Institute.
Student Member: FREE (for the duration of their full-time study only)
Student membership is for individuals engaged full time in the study of internal auditing or related courses at college, technical institutes or universities who cannot qualify as either an Individual member or an Associate.

Retired / On Leave Member: 2024: $195.00 | 2025: $215.00
The Retired / On Leave membership category is designated for individuals who have retired, are on sabbatical or parental leave, or are taking a leave of absence from their workplace. Members under this classification are restricted from engaging in any form of internal auditing and may need to fulfil specific membership requirements upon reapplication for full membership. We advise individuals interested in this membership to reach out to the IIA NZ National Office for additional details before applying. It's important to note that Retired / On Leave members do not possess any voting rights.

The membership fees below are exclusive of GST and cover the financial year 1 January to 31 December. Membership fees are non-refundable.
There are five categories of group membership. A group membership provides cost efficiency and allows for staff changes, meaning when a staff member leaves, their replacement can join at no additional cost.

** For instance, if you hold a Bronze group membership with five staff and need to add another member, only the sixth member will receive the discount for the Silver group membership. This procedure is applicable to the Bronze, Silver, and Gold membership categories.
The invoicing structure and charges for additional new members will be determined by your assigned category as of 1 January. Membership fees are non-refundable.
A new membership application fee of $50.00 + GST is applicable to each member within the group membership category. For further information and details, please reach out to the IIA NZ office.
Answer: IIA NZ members enjoy the exclusive benefit of accessing Situations Vacant advertising on the IIA NZ website and our social media platforms at a discounted rate of $125 + GST per advertisement. In contrast, non-members are charged the standard rate of $250.00 + GST. To submit your vacancy, please fill out the form on the 'Advertise a Vacancy' webpage.

Answer: If you have previously acquired a group membership for the year and wish to include additional staff that would exceed your current membership category, the new staff will be eligible for the discount applicable to the next membership category. It's important to note that no additional discounts will be provided for the memberships already purchased. For instance, if you hold a Bronze group membership with five staff and need to add another member, only the sixth member will receive the discount for the Silver group membership.
Answer 1 - Group Memberships: You can transfer their membership to another employee or, if suitable, to their replacement within the same membership category within your group membership. Furthermore, for the employee who has left, we offer a pro-rated individual membership fee after June 1, providing them with the option to continue their membership post departure from your organization.
Answer 2 - Individual Membership: You can transfer the membership to another employee or, if suitable, to their replacement within the same membership category. Please note: If there is no one available to take over the membership, no refund will be provided. However, if you employ someone later in the year who can assume the membership, please contact us.
Answer: This invoice pertains to your IIA NZ Annual Membership Subscription, effective from 1 January, covering a 12-month period. Payment is due by the end of February, and failure to meet this deadline will result in the expiration of your membership. If using a credit card, a third-party surcharge applies; alternatively, an online bank transfer option is provided on the invoice. By renewing your membership, you consent to the sharing of your personal information with our staff, committees, and board of the IIA NZ, to the extent reasonably necessary for the purpose for which you supplied it to us.
