Alison Wiley has been working in internal audit and risk management for 20 years across central and local government. She is passionate about demonstrating the value internal audit can bring to organisational performance. Alison joined MBIE’s Internal Assurance team in 2022 as their Practice Lead and has been acting as the Head of Internal Assurance since July 2025. Throughout her career, Alison has championed the role of internal audit as a trusted advisor, helping organisations navigate complexity, improve systems, and build resilience.
